Full description

A most unusual pillbox, worthy of preservation. A hexagonal brick & concrete Type 22 <1> overlooking the Cheshunt to Newgate Street valley to the NW. It stands in a private garden & is viewed & used as an attractive garden feature. What is particularly unusual, & contributes greatly to its attraction is that the roof has been crenellated in concrete & this appears to be original - not a post-war addition. This is confirmed by the owners of the house called Lakeside, who constructed the house and garden 5 years ago, in a field <2, 3>.
