Full description

Remains of an aircraft dispersal pen. Brick-built and sunk into a earth bank which is contemporary with the structure. Purpose uncertain, but 1960 OS 1:10000 map shows that an airfield track or taxiway ran directly to it. Only the inner right-angle survives, in which two narrow brick-lined recesses are visible<1>; these are shown on the 1:2500 OS map <1>. A 1944 plan of the airfield shows an aircraft dispersal pen located here <2, 4>. (See also [6997, 6998]).
