Grid Reference:TF 117 346

Full description

Two large mounds lie one on each side of the Horbling-Billingborough Road. There is no tradition about them and it seems not impossible that they are butt mounds. 'A' TF11753469 Diameter, 25 paces, height 4 foot 6 inches, very flattened; 'B' TF11793468 ditched slightly on north-east side, 27 paces across and 6 foot high, with flattened top. Both mounds carry clumps of elms (1964). Detail shown but not named on O.S. 25inch map of 1887. Not shown on OS 1824 map. {1}{2}
The mounds are grass covered. Without excavation classification not possible. {1}
These two mounds are now scheduled as bowl barrows. {4}
