'EARLY METAL AGE' WORKED FLINTS FROM PEACOCK'S HOLE, LAUGHTON. IN 1964 FEATHERSTON REPORTED THAT THE FIND SPOT WAS IN THE DRY BED OF WHAT WAS FORMERLY A POND NAMED 'PEACOCK HOLE'. THE BED WAS TREE-COVERED AND NO FINDS WERE MADE DURING FIELDWALKING. ALL THE MATERIAL FOUND WAS IN THE POSSESSION OF ETHEL RUDKIN, AND COMPRISED SCRAPERS, BORERS AND A POSSIBLE SAW. {1}~ PEACOCK HOLE IS SHOWN AS OPEN WATER ON THE 1970s 1:10000 OS MAP. {3}
