1) Path cut through the north-east corner of the inner bailey revealed stonework at its base. The wall was approximately 1.1m wide and aligned on the bank. The exposed area was level with the inner bailey and approximately 1.5m below the top of the bank. May be the cutain wall or part of a corner turret. (site visit by B Giggins Jan 2000)
