MOAT INCLOSING AN AREA OF ABOUT 4 ACRES. VCH SUGGEST IT TO BE THE SITE OF AN OLD MANOR. A DOCUMENT OF 1400 MAKES REFERENCE TO DITCHES ROUND THE MANOR WHICH CONTAIN DIVERS FISH. WHELLAN MAKE MENTION OF AN ANCIENT BUILDING AND OF A DRAWBRIDGE REMOVED ABOUT 1798. Form: Earthwork (01/1970) (1)(2)
