Description

Door added to the northern of the two existing walls during rebuild that occurred by 1600 AD. This re-used the existing walls, but raised the floor by 0.9m with sand. Facing waste flint flakes were recovered indicating that whilst the walls were re-used, they also had to be repaired. The new Holy Brook revetment is contemporary. Also there is a new internal arrangement of a double row of central pillars. A double row of post pads indicates that in the rebuilding of the stables there were now three instead of two bays <1>.
