Summary

The second of the 18th century wharfs ran from the brick south section of 01022.15.600 for at least 19.5m and was constructed of staves with tie backs to the river bank.

Description

The second of the 18th century wharfs ran from the brick south section of 01022.15.600 for at least 19.5m and was constructed of staves with tie backs to the river bank. However, when reclamation started, and material was dumped behind the revetment, it collapsed forward into the river <1>.
