Monument Type(s):

  • WATERMILL (Medieval to Post Medieval - 1066 AD to 1900 AD)

Description

On a branch of the Kennet, parallel to Mill Lane was a group of mills. Some of the Domesday mills may have been sited here, and documents certainly evidence corn and fulling mills in the 13th century <1>. The site was occupied until 'recently' (?1900s) by a watermill (listed JK Major)<2>
