Curfew tower, built 1227-1230 AD and defended the north-west corner of the castle.

Description

Curfew tower, built 1227-1230 AD. It defended the north-west corner of the castle. Late 15th century timber belfry inserted. Renovated 1863 by Salvin with new external masonry and roof. Used as storehouse, prison and bell house in the past.
