Two pits were found cut into the causeway. These are from phase 5 at the site.

Description

Two pits were found cut into causeway. These are from phase 5 at the site. One is cut parallel to gully, with a fill of redeposited brickearth, chalk and chalk blocks. The other is square and cut through metalled surface (phase 3) <1>.
