Description
Garden walls. Probably late C16. Coursed sandstone rubble; red brick top with vitrified blue diapering, and stone coping, ramped down to sides. U-plan forming courtyard in front of house; approximately 70 metres long. Moulded stone Tudor archway axial to house in south east wall, with wrought iron gate; moulded stone Tudor archway in right-hand return wall adjacent to house with boarded gate. The garden walls form an important part of the formal composition of the south-east front of Plaish Hall (qv) <1>
