Description

Found at the bottom of a trench on the N side of Old St Chad's Crypt (PRN 01094) during the 1890 excavations. Initially thought to be a Roman stylus, but subsequently recognised as a Saxon styliform pin <1a>
Similar one found at the Saxon Abbey of Whitby <1aiii>
