Description
A hoard contained in a pottery jar was discovered in the early 19th Century in a cutting in the Horseshoe Lane. The hoard consisted of approximately 402 denarii, one of which appears to have been of Septimus Severus, suggesting a possible 3rd Century deposition date <1>
