Description

Dated 1892. Large neo-Elizabethan brick mansion with straight gables and an asymmetrically placed square turret <0>

Now school. A full-blown country house, built c. 1892-3 for Captain Ellis Brooke Cunliffe by Thomas Bower of Nantwich. Red brick with ashlar dressing. In coarse Neo-Elizabethan style, the far-extending main fronts determinedly asymmetrical. (The interior is arranged round a balconied top-lit hall)<3>
