Description

It is possible that in addition to the Town Gate, which stood nearby at the bottom of Dinham Bank (PRN 01763), there was an upper gate at the corner of Camp Lane, and that in later days the Chapel (PRN 00517) may have been used as a gatehouse chapel <1>
In 1786 Dinham Gateway remained entire, and many persons remember the Chapel approached by a flight of steps to the right, on entering the town <2>
