Description

Open space (rough ground) immediately W of a wharf on the Shropshire Union Canal (Montgomeryshire Branch) (927). <1>

Rednall Bone Works. <2><3>

Building, use not indicated. Map indicates probable survival of historic building(s). <4>

Rednall Bone and Manure Works was built adjacent to the basin at Rednall between 1875 and 1900. The factory closed with the disuse of the canal, and despite proposals for its commercial redevelopment was demolished in 1989. In 1986, the basin was developed by British Waterways and the Nature Conservancy Council as a nature reserve for aquatic plants. <5>
