Description

Buildings depicted on the 2nd edition 25" OS map of the early 20th century. <1>

Post medieval ruinous mine engine house. Round stone chimney with brick-arched flue and complex of associated ruins, marked on OS map [<1>]. Ruins stone, standing up to 3m high, chimney up to 5m, possibly connected with mine workings 40103/01 to NW. Difficult to observe clearly because of dense woodland and possible danger from approaching too close to standing walls, as most of mortar has washed out. In fair condition. <2>

Modern digital OS MasterMap data (version date October 2005) indicates structural remains survives on site. <3>
