Description
An earthwork bank about 40m long was noted during walkover survey carried out as part of assessment of the proposed route of the Llanforda Quality Improvement scheme. It ran E-W between a cannalised stream and a field boundary to the west of the motte and bailey castle. The bank was recorded as about 0.75m high by c.2m wide. <1>
This feature appears to have been identified by the Marches Upland Mapping Programme (MU.479.12). Identified as a probable bank of medieval date, possibly related to the Castle. <2>
Slight earthwork visible on LiDAR imagery. <3>
