Description
A replacement cast iron milepost on the Montgomery Canal. Short cylindrical round-topped post with curved rectangular plates to front, 2 to top and one to bottom. Superscribed serif lettering reads: "NEWTOWN /28/MILES" (left-hand side), "WELSH/FRANKTON/7 MILES. " (right-hand side) and " MONTGOMERY/CANAL." (bottom). <1>
