Description
Railway terrace, dated c.1850 associated with the Montgomery Canal despite its name. The railway referred to is the quarry tramroad (PRN 06651) which met the canal directly opposite this building. 2 dwellings, extended and slightly altered. <1>
Photographed in 1997 (distant view). <2>
Later photograph taken 21st February 2019. <3>
Railway Cottages are a group of four dwellings in a terrace on the towpath side of the canal that was evidently a shorter terrace of three at one time. Rubblestone built with brick detailing under a shallow pitched plain gabled slated roof, the terrace is probably of early-mid 19th century date. <4>
