Description

Elderly beech tree close to Berwick Memorial bearing a number of crudely cut initials, apparently to Polish and American air force personnel based at Atcham Airdrome 1943-7. At this time this area of the park was used as a vehicle depot. The graffiti includes; JTE 1946, WPC KY, Delaware, PLN.46, POLAND BIALIX (?) 1947, Bruski, CH 1943 USA, and a star shaped emblem in a circle (This is a daisy wheel). <1>
