Description

Atcham WWII Airfield "dispersed site No. 5". Casualty clearing station constructed in 1942. No visible traces now remain. Below ground remains may exist. Demolished in 1972. <1>

Single storey brick with concrete detailing and render 4 in walls with interval buttresses apparently. Main block c.25 × 10 m with associated temporary ancillary buildings to south comprising ambulance garage, orderlies barrack hut, latrine block and picket post. Finally demolished in 1972 now a plantation. <1a>

Described briefly in management/condition survey in 2015. A square-shaped wooded area with brick debris of former buildings.<2>
