Description

Church Stretton Station opened on 21/4/1852. Original station was N of overbridge with two platforms 170 ft long. The main buildings were on the W platform, built on the 'Modern English or villa style' , in rusticated stone. <1>

The old station building still remains, but is no longer in railway use. <2>

Designed by T.M.Penson for the Shrewsbury&Hereford Railway, opened 1852, closed 1914. Square two-storey station house under a hipped roof, with single-storey offices attached. All in rock-faced Soudley stone. <3>
