SOU 1420 (watching brief on test pits at the Houndwell Park Play Area in 2007):
[1]: Trench 1 (figs 2 and 4) cut the 19th century backfill of a disused canal. (The canal was dug in the 1790s. It was filled in during the 1840s. The line of the canal is shown on the 1846 map. See fig 2.)
