Summary

Detached house, built before 1881 as a lodge serving the Thornhill Park estate (MSH3657). It was demolished after 2003 and replaced by a block of flats (283 Upper Deacon Road).

Full description

HER 24/6/10: Former 291 Upper Deacon Road. The 1881 map [1] shows this detached house as a "Lodge" belonging to the Thornhill Park estate. The house is still shown on the 1961 map [5]. Included on a c1970 list of suggestions for listing [6] (no further details given). The building has been demolished and replaced by a block of flats (confirmed on Google Street View 2009). HER 8/6/11: Set of photos in HER digital photos archive taken 20/3/03, so demolished after that.

HER 4/10/11: Address is more likely to have been 285 Upper Deacon Road.
