<1> A large (>3m) ditch running roughly west east along the line of, and set back from, Printing Office Street was excavated. This was dated to the 13th century or older and is in roughly the right place and alignment to comprise part of the town ditch.
A number of medieval pits were also excavated, also dated as 13th century or older, as well as an undated wall footing and a number of robber trenches, these possibly dug to remove building material.
Several shallow post-medieval pits, one containing a jetton dated c1580. Also recovered was a whetstone of Scandinavian origin.
