    Full Description

    <1> Cruck barn (?), The Manor, Sheffield. Medieval. "Remains" - LHB, May 1977 - believed this to be the ruins of a 16th century stone building including lower part of one cruck blade, east of Manor ruins.
    References: LHB 67

    <2> Excavation was carried out within the footprint of the building in 1990 prior to its consolidation. Surfaces, walls, the positions of former crucks and an oven/kiln were identified. Excavators dated it to after 1706.

    <3> Now believed to be 19th century, reusing an earlier cruck blade. Probably associated with the post-medieval hamlet [PIN5467] that developed following the disuse of the manor [PIN251].
