Full Description

SEVERAL WEATHERED PALAEOLITHIC FLINTS IN THE CLAY ABOVE THE RIVER GRAVEL IN NORTHBROOK STREET. SAID TO BE IN NEWBURY MUSEUM, BUT CANNOT BE TRACED.
Peake notes that flint implements were found in 'stiff greenish yellow clay' <4>. The artefacts could not be traced in Newbury Museum in the 1960s <5>.

The objects were found during excavations for mains drainage in 1894 <1>.
