Full Description
Major linear running across northwest approaches to Silchester between two Roman roads. Dubious eastern extension cuts 1017 (MWB1361 Raven Hill). Possible post-Roman frontier may be contemporary with 1016 (MWB1356, Grim's Bank II complex), Linears 1016.02 (MWB1358, Dyke in Park Piece) and 1015.06 (MWB1355, Grim's Bank in Ufton Park) being added to form a single frontier system (?). Parts are scheduled monuments - old references Berks SM 51, 50, 48 and 52.
