    House and shops. One building. C.18-19, 3 storeys, grey red brick front on C18 (or earlier) timber framed house with central passage way. Central brick stack. Tudor brick and timber is visible on S. side of passage way.

Full Description

Grade II listed 16th - 17th century building remodelled and refronted early 19th century to form 2 separate shops with central passageway. Three storeys. Timber- framing and former jetty to 1st floor of orginal building on south side of passage; red brick nogging. Modern shopfronts <1>.

Planning consent was given to demolish the building and build a modern building subject to approval by Secretary of State. Demolition began prior to this approval <2>.

The designation was only changed to a delisted status in 2010 following a review of listed buildings in Newbury in 2009.
