Full Description

The icehouse is marked as a bottle shaped structure on the First Edition Ordnance Survey <1>, within woods that were part of the grounds of Greenham Lodge. This country house was rebuilt in 1879 but on the site of an early 19th century house.

It is not clear whether the icehouse survives in the 21st century; although the area of trees appears to have been cleared by the Second Epoch mapping <2>, it is partially covered in vegetation in a 2003 air photograph <3>.
