Full Description
A footbridge at this location was built across the former Great Western Railway line between the platforms at Newbury Racecourse station in the early 20th century. Originally (as shown on historic mapping of 1911 <1>), it only spanned the dedicated lines to the Racecourse station. On historic mapping of 1933 <2>, it is shown spanning the main through lines in addition. It is not shown on historic mapping of 1969. The history of the line <3> states that it was a wooden structure that was demolished in 1965.
