Full Description
Hamstead Crossing signal box is shown on the First epoch OS map of 1880 <1> and is shown on historic mapping up to the Fifth epoch OS map of 1970 <2>. Its function was replaced by Kintbury signal box <3> when modern signalling was installed in the late 1970s and it was subsequently demolished.
A history of Stockcross includes a photograph of the level crossing with a timber signal box, which was demolished in 1978 <4>.
