Full Description
A rectangular icehouse is marked on the First Edition Ordnance Survey mapping <1> on the north side of Love Lane, opposite Shaw House. It is sited within an old chalk pit, alongside a farmstead complex and other buildings. The icehouse, unlike the farm, is shown on the 1838 Tithe map <2><3>. A single building is also shown within the chalk pit on the Ordnance Survey Drawing of 1808 <4>.
By the time of the 2nd Epoch OS mapping of 1899 <5> the icehouse appears to have been removed.
