The Berkshire Record Office holds other records for Burnham Copse County Infant School between 1954 and 1959 <1>. Apparently this was provided for employees of the Atomic Weapons Establishment at Aldermaston, within Berkshire. The exact location of the school is not known. A subsequent Burnham Copse infant school was built in Tadley in Hampshire.
The place name 'Burnham's Copse' comes from a wooded area within the Aldermaston Park estate, later used as the Second World War airfield <2>.
