Full Description

A Ball Pen Factory is marked on the north side of Arrowhead Road in Theale on the Fifth Edition OS map of 1969 <1>. The BIC biro company moved to this location after having been previously based at Sheffield Farm to the south of the canal since after the Second World War <2>. Planning permission to extend the factory was approved in 1975, 1976 and 1994 <3><4>, but then to redevelop it in 1999 <5>, during which year it was demolished <6>.
