Full Description
An evaluation took place in 1995 in an area north of the railway and St Michael's Road, Newbury. Within Trench 1, Pits 102, 112, 113, 122, 125 and 141 were found. Pits 102, 112, 113 and 122 were dated from the 17th to 19th centuries based mainly on pottery finds. They were dug into natural deposits, overlain by garden soils and cut by 20th century intrusions.
The GIS point is the approximate centre of Trench 1.
