Full Description
Period of desertion known but documentary evidence inferior in quantity. Desertion c.1450-1700 Enclosure for pasture/improved arable <2>. The field investigator's comments were that there were no traces of a deserted settlement <3>.
The Victoria County History considers that the manor later known as Shalford was held in 1086 by Robert the son of Girold <6>.
