Grade II listed church, of 14th century origins but with a documentary reference in the Domesday Book
St Mary's, a Grade II listed parish church was extensively rebuilt in late 19th century but is of medieval origins. Flint with stone dressings and tiled roof. Contains several important monuments as well as many listed chest tombs in the churchyard <1> <4>. The Domesday Survey <7> listed a church here.
West Berkshire Museum has a photograph showing the church in the mid 20th century <22>.
