'DERITONE' RECORDED IN DOMESDAY. LATER VARIANTS OF THE NAME INCLUDE DUNINTONA (1167), DONITON (1229), DYNYNTON (1307). THE NAME MEANS 'ESTATE ASSOCIATED WITH DUN(N)'.
