EXAMINATION OF GRAVEL ISLAND AND PEAT DEPOSITS AND WATCHING BRIEF DURING CONSTRUCTION. NOTHING OF ARCH SIGNIFICANCE IN GRAVELS (NB LARGELY DISTURBED DEPOSIT) NO FINDS OVERALL.
PEAT SAMPLED FOR LATER POLLEN ANALYSIS.
NO SIGN OF ROMAN CEMETERY REPORTED (AND DESTROYED) IN 1856.
