Full Description
EVALUATION BEHIND CAMP HOPSON STORE BEYOND THE AREA OF THE MEDIEVAL TOWN, BUT REVEALED A PEAT-FILLED PALAEOCHANNEL AND POST MEDIEVAL BANK CONSOLIDATION AND A WELL/WATER BOTTLE ASSOCIATED WITH THE ELMS/MARSH HOUSE THAT STOOD ON THE SITE IN THE 19TH CENTURY.
Dendrochronological analysis was carried out on three oak timbers from the sluice drain at 6-12 Northbrook Street but proved unsuccessful as it was not possible to establish a site master chronology <4>.
