Full Description

Various articles were found 'on removing the lumber accumulated in the vaults beneath the town hall' when the new Municipal buildings were constructed in 1876. These included the pole of a regimental colour, some official staves, a military button and bayonet, and a brass medal <1>. See also MWB9904 for objects discovered when digging the foundations for the town hall in the same year.
