Kexby Old Hall (NR) (1)
Moat (NR) (2)
The present hall is modern, and all traces of the moat have been obliterated. Published survey (25") revised. (3)
Traces of the moat described by the previous authorities were seen as earthworks on early air photographs (1946). Part of the moat at SE 7021 4922 was seen as deep ditch 70m long and 12m wide, turning to run north at its western end. On later air photographs virtually all traces of the moat have disappeared and it is assumed that it was filled in and ploughed over. There are small hollows in the field to the north west of the Old Hall these are probably post Medieval quarrying of some kind and have not been recorded. (4)
