Full description
SE60225191. A Roman interval tower (SW3 on the key plan), is situated under Border's shop, Coney Street, where a fragment of walling is incorporated in the cellar wall. Excavated in 1939. Remains interpreted as part of the rear compartment of a projecting interval tower. The remains correspond with the wall carrying the lower rampart-walk and parts of the side wall of the compartment. Siting confirmed but inspection of the remains not possible. (2)
