| Summary: | Vis=23/10/1979 (os)there is nothing on the os 3" drawing of 1801 at windmill hill (not named) to identify these earthworks. The only grounds laid out with ornamental walks are those of farringdon house (sy017919). The hill may have been the encampment of lord russell's army in 1549 during the western rebellion and the scene of a battle (nmr citing os). |
