Summary: | Sherds of iron age a pottery found in the rampart material of blackbury castle. Vis=estimated -/-/1952(fox, a. ) sherds of iron age b pottery were recovered from the underlying ground surface. The hut where post holes were found in 1953, was examined in 1954. A fire pit, 300mm in depth, yielded fragments of rough iron age b pottery, while decorated sherds of glastonbury type came from the overlying ash. From the ground level, below the main rampart of the fort, came material comparable to the first season's decorated iron age b pottery. |
