Summary: | Previously named 'Corgrag' and 'Hornsey'. 1803 ton, 263ft Spanish steamer carrying iron ore from Bilbao to Newcastle. Hit Gregory Rocks in thick fog on December 12th 1932; broke free, but ran onto rocks at west end of Steeple Cove. Now broken up at 8m depth. One boiler is upright, the other tilted over. Anchors and winch visible. Plating widely scattered. Propellor lies flat amongst weed. |
