Summary:Vis=14/10/1980 (hankin) the site is approx. Where the boiler house (1914) of stowford paper mill stands. A corn mill probably existed on the site since 16c when the williams family acquired stowford estate and became lords of the manor of harford. The mill was demolished c.1860 and the site became part of the paper mill. 'millhouses and three watergreist mills' called stowford mills are recorded in a deed dated 20th december 1736. The mill is listed in the ta 1838, and the tithe map shows a water wheel there (hankin?).
